"There is Hope" Evangelism

Over a period of five weeks from 18th August to 15th September 2018, the Elephant and Castle Community SDA Church in collaboration with Area 6B held an evangelistic campaign on the theme “There is Hope”. The campaign was held at Rockingham Community Centre, at Elephant and Castle, a short distance from the train station.
The campaign had Nicholas Okyere, the Youth Leader of the church and now a student at Newbold College studying Theology as the speaker. The health presentations which touched on healthy eating, cholesterol, diabetes, and depression among others was ably delivered by Awo Sarfowaa of London Ghana SDA Church. Also, soul inspiring songs were rendered by the Church Choir, and the various singing groups, and a gospel singer Nana Amankwah Tiah, all of the church.
The campaign which was very well attended throughout the period recorded altogether twenty-seven (27) visiting friends and ended with twelve (12) souls being baptised to the glory of God on 15th September 2018. Among the newly baptised were a married couple, two sisters and two brothers. A communion service was held on the same day to welcome the new members into membership of the world-wide Seventh-day Adventist Church. The purpose of the evangelistic campaign was to share the message of salvation with the community as part of our theme for the year: Evangelism Everyone Everywhere.
For Nicholas Okyere, this evangelistic campaign “has been a journey of personal 'Damascus Experience'”, and for the church members, “a great revival.” He believes this will lead to genuine transformation of character and a change in perspective in sharing the love of Jesus Christ in the community.
A newly baptised member, Martha who baptised with the husband, said, “she has always being longing to join a Bible believing church like the SDA and she is very happy by the grace of God that is now a reality “. The Church Pastor, Lewis Quaye also “In the midst of the hopelessness in our world today, there is hope in Jesus, and we rejoice with the 12 men and women who have found that hope through the preaching of the word by our young preacher, Nicholas”.
